Charges are from £35 for one full hour of therapy. Treatment is based on the understanding of each client’s problem. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a collaborative therapy which means that I work with the client to identify goals and we agree a shared treatment plan.
The duration of counselling can be short or long term dependant upon the problem and the needs of the client. Some clients are in therapy for just a brief time, anything between 3 – 8 sessions. Other clients who have had long standing problems may choose to stay in therapy longer to explore their problems in depth. I usually arrange to see clients once a week. Once they begin to understand the therapy and how it is helping them, they may wish to taper the session to fortnightly. This allows time between sessions to put the skills learned into practice. Follow up sessions at 3, 6 or 12 months to review progress, can be undertaken.
